KindPeoples statement on vaporizer safety

As a trusted dispensary, the well-being of our customers is our top priority. 

We want to assure our customers that none of the vaporizer brands we carry were included in the CDC warning or investigation of vaping-related illnesses that impacted hundreds across multiple states. 

Federal investigators linked the outbreak to products from the illicit market, pop-up shops, vape shops, online dealers and “informal sources” such as family and friends. 

The CDC confirmed that the proximate cause of many of the injuries and deaths were due to Vitamin E Acetate used as a thinning agent in illicit market products. 

None of the vaporizer products we carry contain Vitamin E Acetate or any other cutting agent such as medium-chain triglyceride (MCT), vegetable glycerine (VG), and propylene glycol (PG). 

While state-legal dispensaries are required to sell only regulated products that have been lab tested, “pop up” stores and unregulated “vape shops” are not subject to the same scrutiny and regulation as state-legal dispensaries.  

All products sold at either of our Santa Cruz locations are from licensed vendors, lab-tested by an independent third-party and comply with all California state laws and regulations. Cannabis products from licensed dispensaries are rigorously tested for a variety of chemicals, pesticides, microbial impurities and heavy metals.

To ensure our Santa Cruz cannabis community stays safe, it is important that consumers only purchase legal and compliant vaporizer products from licensed dispensaries.
